I think it was a good idea to start tumblr, because I first start doodling with the intention of posting crud in tumblr then I couldn't help myself working on it more. I haven't drawn Yuri for years, poor thing. I thought I might as well design her looks as well. Everything was drawn on the fly, actually, and it worked out okay. I tried to draw in a slightly different style. Well, tried.

Brief Description:
This is Yuri, Lady Fire. She is first wife of Veo [link] (posted yesterday) and also a Phoenix. She does not have wings for flight. She also has bright yellow eyes, but she is not The Phoenix. She also got revised a lot over time, changing from a Queen to a Palace dancer.

She was an outstanding Fire Dancer in the Royal Palace when Veo first encountered her. By the time they actually got together, she had retired to a Kindergartner teacher/dance teacher at a rather young age, reasons being her secret.

Yuri is not biologically related to my main character, Kai. After living with Veo happily for many years, she mysteriously left him. Afterwards, Veo meets Evi, and therefore Kai comes into the world. That is all I can talk about this character, mainly because it is part of Veo's past.

Fun fact: Her name means "glass" in Korean, since glass is made from sand and fire. The land where Phoenix people live are kind of desert-y, so I presume it has lots of sand.

Since this particular drawing is of her in fancy dancing clothes, I cannot say that she wouldn't look like these old drawings. What she looks like normally and in generally shall remain a mystery for the time being. Only Veo knows.
